This was a fun weekend! 4 Bleeding nuckles, two cuts on fingers, cut shin, a bruised knee and two near death experiences later, we were able to finish the pergola. We built the brick bases last weekend and the wood structure this weekend. Each 6x6x8ft column weighs more than I do so it was challenging to put them up.
Now we need some patio furniture and a grill so we can barbecue. We'll have to wait till next year to paint it with a clear stain that'll show the wood. It's getting cold so it may be around the time we are ready to BBQ. We'll also stain the concrete to something a little warmer. According to Jayme it's an arbor, not a pergola... but I'm still calling it a pergola. It sounds more european. :)
The next project will be to finish Niko's armoire and then our bedroom's armoire. The fun never stops!!
