So, about a month ago we started thinking we should take advantage of the great interest rates out there and either refinance our home or possibly search for a new home with a tad bit more space, outside and inside. After casually looking at several homes nothing seemed right. We either didn't like the layout, or the yard wasn't big enough, etc. This is when a realtor suggested that if we were as picky as we claimed maybe we should just build a house. Building a house is something we had always thought we would do one day, but figured we financially weren't ready for that. After doing some research though, and deciding that Pablo could and would love to do some of the work on the house himself, we discovered it just might be doable! We went ahead and put our house up for sale, and are now in the process of getting quotes for the home we are hoping to build, and hopefully everything will come together. If everything does not come together then we will know that now is not the right time.
We have a couple lots we are looking at, both around 1 acre in size, which is pretty exciting to know the boys will have more of a yard to run, play and discover. :) We'll keep you all posted on how it goes. We should know more on the lot situation and final quotes in about 3 weeks, so stand by.
