He's going to be a BIG one people!!

So, Tuesday I went to the Dr. for my 36 week checkup. When they measured my belly they said I was measuring about
a week behind schedule, so they wanted me to follow up with an ultrasound to try to get a better estimate of Niko's size.
I tried not to worry about this even though I could not help but wonder why he would be small... was I not eating right? Did I
have enough amniotic fluid? I was hoping we would just hear everything was fine, but he was just going to be a little baby.

Well, I went on Wednesday for the ultrasound, where they checked all his organs (they all look perfect) and measured his head
and thigh bone to try to get an estimate on size. The Dr. took one look at the pics and said "you're not dealing with a small baby... this is a BIG baby!" He said based on the measurements he was almost 8lbs. already! That means that if he gains 1/2 a lb. a week until my due date he will be around 9 1/2 lbs. If he goes until my scheduled inducement he would be close to 10 lbs!
Now we have heard ultrasounds this far along may not be quite as accurate but since pablo was around a 10 pounder we think the Dr. may be right on. The Dr. looked over at Pablo and told him he needed to take me to a nice dinner out... that I deserved it.:) So, they said I am just carrying Niko in a very compact way.

The good thing about this was that Pablo and I got to see Niko one last time before his big arrival! They showed us some 4D
images and I think he looks A LOT like Pablo! The nurse kept saying how cute his mouth and lips were.:) We can't wait to see him in person!
Love,
jayme
